Spent the last 2 days helping a grand Aunt from my father's side clean her now inhabitable house. She was born and raised in that house. Now in her middle 60's, she finds herself without a place to call home for the first time in her life. She will be staying with me for the meantime, as she sorts out her life or until her siblings finds a suitable place for her to stay. They would probably buy another house, something smaller, easier to maintain and definitely in an area that is flood free during the typhoon season.
Another set of relatives, this time from my mother's side, also suffered the same fate. But unlike the Aunt I mentioned earlier, they don't have financially capable siblings to help them start over. Right now they are still trapped in Marikina and we don't know when we will get a chance to pay them a visit. The last we heard from her, vehicles are still not allowed in their area due to the flooding and they are taking out dead bodies first. Which makes me wonder, isn't it more important to get help to those that are still alive? After all, dead people won't know the difference right?!
There are many other stories I want to tell....sadly they all share a common denominator... a storm call ONDOY.

Messy room...messy mind...organized room...organized mind...
I finally got around to cleaning my sister's room which has become the de facto storage room in our house (she moved out after getting married).
Before pics.
And after throwing away this much plastic bags and what nots... (there's actually 2 BIG bag full of plastic bags that I threw out... I cringe at the thought of all those plastic bags)
and a bit of reorganizing (I was very ruthless and threw away everything that can no longer be used. Other stuff I segregate into two plastic boxes, 1 box to be sold in my ebay store and 1 box for stuff that could be given away. I call the latter the family gift box....you know for those surprise invitations you just can't refuse but have no budget to spare for gifts)
Finally.........
The room still needs a bit of organizing. Unfortunately I am not the most organized person to do that. Its clean (that's more important!), the wooden sofa which doubles as bed for my sister and her husband when they come to visit is finally usable again and you could actually walk around the small room for a change :D

eBay Seller Course LIVE @ Sining Kamalig Art Gallery
This was held last Aug, 29. It was both fun and inspiring (not to mention really helpful for newbies in ebay like me)
Here's a shoutout to Ms. Eireen and her wonderful staff !!!
